Description:
In 2012, the requirement for a modern two-TEU container wagon for SSR arose, these would be class as the BQAY. The first twenty-one (2001-2021) would be branded "Consolidated Rail Leasing", the following three (2022-2024) would be branded "Bromwich Rollingstock Leasing", the following three (2025-2027) would be branded "Nally Rail Leasing" and the final three (2028-2030) would be branded "Ferguson Rollingstock Leasing". The BRW, NRL and FRL BQAY would be named after the three bosses of SSR and would see a variety of use in lease operations, and when not in lease, they would be used on the SSR Kelso service. These wagons have been extensively researched and as such, reflect the prototypes specific liveries and numbers, as well as check letters.
